If you are struggling with your eating or exercise routine, you deserve support regardless of your diagnosis or ability to attain one. A diagnosis can be helpful in obtaining insurance coverage. In that case, a medical or mental health provider can conduct an assessment and provide a diagnosis if appropriate. Dietitians cannot diagnose eating disorders so a referral or chart summary from a provider of your treatment team is required to seek insurance coverage.

Athletes have unique needs, environments, and presentations.
Your sport may also have unique demands including uniforms, weight classes, and varying training intensities.
A Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics is uniquely positioned to help navigate the intersection of sports nutrition and eating disorders.

Nope! Even without any formal or structured participation, if you’d like to work on your relationship with movement, exercise, or develop a consistent movement routine, you’ll benefit from working with a sports dietitian.

There is no package or pre-pay option for sessions. Session length and frequency is based on clinical need.
Each client will start with a comprehensive eating behavior assessment (up to 90 minutes) and will establish a follow-up frequency and length. Many clients will start with weekly sessions for at least the first month, then we can discuss decreasing frequency to biweekly. Follow ups typically last an hour to start and may shorten or stay that length depending on your needs.
I work with clients typically at minimum for 3 months but have worked with clients for multiple years to support them across life transitions.

I am in network with all major commercial insurance providers. Your coverage and cost responsibility will depend on your specific plan. I do not conduct benefit checks but can provide instructions on how to check benefits. A referral is required from a member of your treatment team if you would like sessions billed under a diagnosis.
Read the Insurance Page for more details.

I can provide meal plans that are appropriate for you or work with the meal plan that your team provides.
I am familiar with and use the exchange-based meal planning system, RAVES, Plate-By-Plate, Rule of 3s, and Family Based Treatment approaches.
I also work with you to transition from more highly structured meal plans, such as one you received in treatment or if you’re finding it challenging to move away from macros or calorie counting towards more flexible eating. I also maintain a subscription to Recovery Record where clients can access self-monitoring and CBT, DBT, and ACT-based tools.

I have received specific training and/or have experience with:
CBT-E, CBT-AR, DBT, and ACT as well as Emotion Focused Family Therapy (LaFrance). FBT. I offer family sessions for any client whose loved ones are involved in their treatment.
I am a dietitian not a therapist, so I apply these approaches, methodologies, and skills within my scope of practice.
I take a weight-inclusive, intuitive eating-informed approach meaning specifically: I may recommend weight restoration targets based on historical growth percentages vs. BMI. I do not use BMI as an assessment of health. I do not recommend weight loss for the treatment of any eating disorder. I believe in informed consent for the use of weight exposures in treatment.
My style is one that is collaborative, honest without being judgmental, and one that holds the structure of the session without simply listing off directives or telling you what to do.
I value humor, swearing in sessions, and openness to the messy realities of recovery.
