Sports and Injury Recovery Nutrition Counseling
Imagine not giving a second thought to your fueling– and not because you forgot– but because you trust that you know what you’re doing.
Not because you’re following the perfect plan, but because you can adapt your nutrition to your schedule, training, and body’s needs.
Build is about becoming the athlete that fuels with confidence, not out of fear of “getting it wrong.” You’ll develop a deeper understanding of your body’s needs and how to work with it instead of fighting it.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! If services are eligible for insurance coverage, BBSN is in network with several major insurers. If it’s determined (based on your application and/or discovery call) that your plan will cover your sessions, your insurance will be billed or you can receive a superbill if out-of-network.
Sessions only are covered and for a 4 month package, typical responsibility for the non-session portion of the package is $400. This can be paid up front or divided into payments.
-
Despite what you may see on other sites, insurance coverage for nutrition counseling is based on medical necessity. While some insurance plans will have preventative benefits, this is based on whether the individual meets specific criteria as outlined in the plan. Sports nutrition may overlap with other conditions such as eating disorders, in which case it will be covered by insurance. By itself, sports nutrition is not typically covered by insurance.
-
If you opt for a single session (fueling audit), we may focus on a single problem, review your typical eating, or discuss educational aspects of fueling.
Working together as part of the Build Program 4 month intensive means that we will go more in depth into things like your diet history, medical history and concerns, and unpack some of your “story” around nutrition, exercise, and body image. Many athletes want to focus on a single area or multiple areas.
-
It depends on the type and amount of support you need in this season.
More intensive, clinical support as what can be needed as you are early in recovery is a better fit for Recover.
If your eating is more stable and you can benefit from less frequent, face-to-face meetings, Build is the best choice.

The single session (Build Intensive) price is $210 and is insurance eligible.
The Build 12-Week Program includes individualized nutrition counseling. Insurance may cover eligible nutrition counseling sessions depending on your plan and benefits. Many clients pay $0 for nutrition counseling.
For self-pay or out-of-network, you will be billed a standard rate alongside the program membership fee. As of October 2026, this is billed as 3 payments of $375/month.
Program membership is billed directly as insurance only covers face-to-face time and includes the wraparound ongoing support to accelerate your progress.
As of October 2026, this is billed as a flat fee of $97/month.

The Build Program pairs 1:1 clinical sessions with outside support and modules to move you towards your goals. It’s a 3 month, structured commitment aimed to give you the support that’s most beneficial when you need it.
Month 1: Initial Assessment and Roadmap build out to set goals and create a plan together.
Month 2-3: Focus on execution, troubleshooting and building confidence with ongoing sessions, frequent check-ins with your dietitian, and food journal review (as needed)
Beyond month 3, you can continue as an Alumni member.
-
while the initial committment if you opt-in to the Build Program is 3 months, there are continuation options as many benefit from ongoing support as goals are met and new ones are created. But as you learn the Aligned Athlete Method, many benefit more from accountability vs. meeting more frequently.
